Sometimes, however, something that seems supernatural, yet is the pinnacle of nature, occurs: when all the senses connect. Those moments when there is a complete and absolute sensory experience, where harmony encompasses the visible, the olfactory, the tactile, the gustatory, and the auditory.

Rarely does this happen, but Francesca Bonato and Nicolás Malleville, creators of Coqui Coqui, have managed to consolidate the paradigm of sensory experience. Coqui Coqui is perfume, flavor, textile, wellness, and residence—all under the same denominator: craftsmanship. This is the story of how one sense ended up conquering all the others.

Coqui Coqui was born in 2002, after Nicolás arrived in Yucatán, México. Immediately, he fell in love with the authenticity that could be felt in such a remote place at that time, and with the unknown architecture that blended Mayan syncretism with colonial houses. With the mestizo culture and a population dressed in traditional attire, living between the countryside and the city, practicing all kinds of activities. Francesca followed him years later: “We were two young people with lots of energy and dreams.”
