Salone del Mobile 2025

The Guide to the Ultimate Event of Design

Written by Inma Buendía

With greater or lesser enthusiasm, the Salone remains the ultimate event in the world of design. Every year, designers and media professionals head to Milan to discover the latest industry trends and reconnect with colleagues we only see at this annual gathering.

The sheer number of events can be overwhelming, and the fear of missing out follows us at every turn. That’s why, this time, we’ve decided to map out our own itinerary with (almost) everything we consider unmissable for the upcoming edition of Fuorisalone (all the actions apart from the fair). We hope our selection helps you make the most of the experience.

“The Last Pot” is a collection of funerary urns by an international shortlist of designers selected by Alberto Alessi: Michael Anastassiades, Audrey Large, David Chipperfield, Daniel Libeskind, Naoto Fukasawa, Philippe Starck, Mario Tsai, Michele De Lucchi, EOOS, Giulio Iacchetti. The installation, intimate and suspended as the nature of the project requires it, and found at Via Osti 6, is signed by Giulio Iacchetti Studio and will display the urns together with a book. Published by Corraini and edited by Federica Sala with the art direction of Studio Marziale, the book contextualises the project in a dimension of life, ‘of care’, of memory and continuity.

Studioutte presents ATOLLO at Via Volturno 45. ATOLLO is a monochromatic, monolithic furniture system—modular and essential—emerging within a meticulously pared-down space. An atollo, Italian for “atoll”, is a self-contained structure or island, reflecing the installation’s enclosed, elemental nature. At studioutte, everything revolves around the table—a fulcrum of research shaped by refinement and subtraction. The table is an anchor in a space that feels both complete and in flux, on the cusp of becoming architecture.
