The dance of light and texture

White is the lightest color on the shade wheel. In fact, white is achromatic. Nonetheless, regardless of its lack of hue, white is full of meaning. Throughout the entirety of Human history, white has symbolized purity. From the Egyptians and the Romans to the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and even in Modern times. This link to purity encompasses many other representations: white is often associated with perfection, honesty, cleanliness, the good and new beginnings.

Without forgetting these historical interpretations, Dedar Milano presents white in a form that is new to us, and to the color itself. The Italian family-run house has opened dimensions and directions that, to this day, have been unknown to the color. Launching fresh textile wallcoverings and transparencies, enlivened by embroideries and artistic touches, the Dedar White Writings family is now revived and enriched in the purest reinterpretation.

A silent decorative form emerges from these unique designs: a strong character is introduced while maintaining the subtlety that defines white. The brand, specialized in fabrics and wallcoverings, has endowed the color with a bold personality, for the first time in its existence, which is nevertheless pervaded by a suffused yet never loud intensity.

The new additions to the Dedar White Writings combine purity with pattern, perfection with imperfection, simplicity with boldness and gentleness with fun. Motifs, material and technique mingle gracefully in the light and luminosity of the achromatic hue. Bold prompts, often evocative of gesture, are accompanied by a sort of continuous ground. The designs reach deep into emotions, resonating with the individuals, and creating a melodic background noise that turns each living space into an appeasing haven.

The lack of chrome is balanced with the fullness of rhythm and dynamism. As a result, the individual embarks on a journey of discovery where the lavishness of structured white guides the path, and transparencies with various inspirations make the trip exciting. One becomes the audience of a multifaceted play with light, where evocation prevails, but a variety of perspectives are awakened.

Some pieces incorporate new metallic voiles that decorate the sheers, acting as precious jewelry right from the Roaring Twenties. In some others, the unrefined natural fibers -linen and hemp- constitute an ode to the emotional warmth and fluid nature of wool. In the latest additions to the Dedar White Writings family, one can choose from geometric motifs, chiaroscuro effects, textile touches and an infinity of possible combinations. Every design comprises a singular example of expressive creativity and in-depth knowledge of the materials and the techniques.

The wallcoverings, which constitute the White Writings’ debut on the wall, open up unseen spaces with motifs that range from ancient symbols, primordial gestures or archetypes, brimming with deep evocations that strike a chord, to the unfettered and unpredictable nature of natural phenomena. These white-based wallcoverings coexist with the latest moiré creations, which add a multicolored touch to the collection with a filtered, fruity palette made up of carefully researched natural nuances.
