It was Michelangelo who said that “every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” DOME, the lighting design by Pedro Sottomayor for MOR Design, is born from the desire to reflect the splendor of a space by using the light that inhabits it.

Each DOME is unique, made of marble that is carefully extracted from the quarry and created by working hand in hand with the best craftsmen. Its appeal lies precisely in choosing the piece of marble whose identity best suits our style. The particular pattern and color of this material can vary the lamp’s design, resulting in hundreds of possibilities. That is why DOME is not just a light fitting; it is a sophisticated design piece with beautiful natural features that elevate the value of every room featuring its distinguished forms.

But DOME is only one of the extraordinary pieces in the very thought-provoking catalog of MOR Design, where the LISBOA chair holds a special place as it is one of their most recent launches. Designed by Keiji Takeuchi, the lounge chair was created for serenity, to enjoy each moment of our every-day life as if it was the last. Available in leather and waterproof fabric, LISBOA chair is suitable for indoors and outdoors making it a functional yet sculptural piece of usage. “An easy looking, Bauhaus inspired chair, for people to recreate, not praising the beauty of the chair. Strong but light, cozy and calm ”, summarizes Keiji Takeuchi.

Alvaro Siza, Daniel Schofield, Julien Renault, Depping & Jørgensen, Hugo Passos and Marta Cruz have also created their signature pieces for the brand, soon to be launched

Creative director and partner of MOR, Pedro Sottomayor and Keiji Takeuchi are just two of the creators behind the brand’s designs.
