Everything starts within. Removing the pressures to become, achieve and pretend, My Inner Health Club offers something as radical as it is simple: a space to care for that which all boils down to—our body.
“We’ve been taught to think of life in a linear model since childhood. However, when you look at nature, you realize everything is cyclical: the moon, the seasons… We move in circles, not lines,” says Ann-Kathrin Grebner, co-founder of My Health Club. Her partner Yasmin Poloczek agrees: “Most modern lifestyle problems arise from our disconnection from nature. When we look at it, we begin to think of our health as a cyclical journey, with ups and downs, and we become more mindful of our bodies.” Little eureka moments are given in a conversation with Grebner and Poloczek, and the goal they have with their project. After knowing each other for years, the two realized they were hitting a similar point, personally and professionally: they needed to work differently and care better for their own selves
In joining forces, they’ve created My Inner Health Club, a digital platform with a variety of content to learn about the body and how to care for it. They aim to make it simple, accessible and mindful of the fact not everyone has the time to go to a yoga studio or the resources to afford a consultation with a holistic practitioner: “We want to be there for you, even if you only have 15 or 5 minutes to do a quick meditation or to listen to a neuroscientist explain how the mind works. We want to give you the little life hacks that can help change your life little by little,” says Grebner candidly.
Their approach is holistic and non-dogmatic, looking at both modern Western medicine and traditional approaches that are slowly disappearing from common knowledge: “Our outlook honors all the important knowledge that already exists and brings it together. That’s where the magic lies—in combining things.” Their research pointed towards four pillars that respond to the most frequent issues people encounter: nutrition, mental resilience, sleep and exercise. “Everybody is different, and what works for me may not for you. So you must learn and listen to your own body. We propose those four pillars so you can think of solutions holistically—we go back to the idea of the body being a circle where everything is connected,” says Poloczek.
Feeling better with yourself is the first step towards being better with others and with the environment. This idea permeates not only the platform but also the way they work with each other and with their peers. Their end goal is to help you be healthier, and that’s why they have a powerful collaborative approach that will expand to other brands soon. “The mission is to work towards health, and what a great challenge, we can’t do it just by ourselves!” They’re on a journey, and they’re inviting you to go on one too.
