Introducing our latest production for the Weekend Max Mara SS23 “Printworks” collection.

If there is a season of the year that is characterized by dressing the streets, avenues, parks, valleys and mountains with color, that season is, without a doubt, Spring. Some people think it’s treacherous, because of its mood swings in the form of temperature and because, according to what they say, it brings a certain alteration in our mood and bodies.

A source of inspiration for any creator, spring is in the essence of what we know as print in fashion. Actually, spring creates its own print around us, and, as humans, we try to emulate the incredible combinations that nature is capable of creating in everything that surrounds us including, of course, the clothes that dress us.

When it comes to fashion, prints are the result of a relationship between the designer and the illustrator built upon a variety of aesthetic melting pots to relate the spirit of contemporary women. The inspiration of the Weekend Max Mara SS23 “Printworks” explores the connections between different languages, bringing to life geometric and floral patterns in which the keyword is lightness.

When it comes to architecture, taking into account the location and landscape it is up to the most important. It determines the light, and it is precisely the main element to play with. Located in front of the sea, the Casa Rovira (built in 1967) is a gem of the golden era of José Antonio Coderch. The house was built for the families of two brothers on a garden-city type area plot, bordering a rocky massif 40 m above the sea, with views of the Canet beach and the Roca de la Catel.

Born in Barcelona in 1913, Coderch’s rationalism applied to his unique Mediterranean style, marking a time in the Catalan culture. Along with contemporary colleagues such as Josep Lluís Sert, he started a new way of thinking about life and the spaces we inhabit: frugal in terms of materiality, but full of natural enrichment, close to the sea and facing the sunlight.

Spring is also synonymous with beginning. It is the season that follows winter, when vegetation makes its appearance in voluptuous forms, the fruits and flowers blossom and, as on a new page, our history can be rewritten. And so it is what Weekend Max Mara has done in the SS23 collection.

Made from the brand’s best sellers, the Italian house has reinvented their classic pieces by the use of new fabrics and volumes which are featured in a selection of fresh new pieces such as feminine-dresses and the patchwork prints. They all come out as a completely new attitude of the brand: The pleated cotton popeline shirt has been reinvented to be more versatile and appropriate at any occasion.

The workwear jacket combines perfectly with the cargo pants for an utterly modern contemporary daily outfit. Macro and micro prints together with summery everlasting colors, transform suits into a very special two-pieces-design. The “Printworks” wardrobe looks perfect for spring and summer days: the outfits are formulated with such care that the collection pieces live together in total harmony.

Few things can be more beautiful than seeing a cherry blossom tree when its time finally arrives, having lunch under its shade while seeing the horizon. The Weekend Max Mara SS23 collection “Printworks” is in bloom, reminding us that we are alive and that, somehow, there is a whole world of possibilities to enjoy to the fullest.
